I see a lot of people excited about this movie, and having read the book I felt a little disappointed with their casting choices.
I mean, Logan Lerman isn’t bad and I know why you all love Emma Watson, but Lerman’s character is supposed to be, for lack of a better word, a wallflower.
That is…Are you kidding me? Logan associates himself more with Charlie because they are similar personality wise—both are shy and reserved and keep to themselves. Also, Chbosky hand picked the actors for the movie HE WROTE (yes, he is acting as writer and director) so odds are, he has good reasoning for picking Logan, Emma, Ezra and everyone else. DO you really think Chbosky would pick just anyone to star in his highly esteemed novel that he is writing into a screenplay as well as directing because he doesn’t want it screwed up? NO. I don’t think so.
Seriously? Logan has played shy, awkward, and reserved characters before in Hoot and for about a year I believe in his show Jack & Bobby. I think both Chbosky and Logan know what they are doing and to judge the movie before it even comes out is kinda stupid. Honestly.
Not all outcasts are not good looking.
A lot of people, yes, even people as handsome as Logan, like to keep to themselves.
I really hate how everyone is starting to judge the casting because of how Logan looks. Honestly, that is stupid.

Most people get picked on because of their interests and personality, which is why Charlie gets picked on. The book never said he was ugly, or good looking, so Logan’s looks don’t really matter when it comes to the role of Charlie.
Weren’t Charlie’s siblings known for being good-looking? (I don’t really remember) but I think they were, so odds are, Charlie may have been good-looking. But it really doesn’t matter because obviousy, Chbosky didn’t see Charlie’s looks as important to the story, and neither do I.
